The first season also saw Anandi as a teenager and then a grown-up woman. The first season of the show revolved around the story of Anandi and Jagdish, who were married to each other when they were children. Toral Rasputra and Surekha Sekhri who played Anandi and Dadisa were killed off in the end of the second season. The second season kicked off just three months back and saw a complete change of cast. Balika Vadhu was divided into two seasons Balika Vadhu-Kachchi Umar Ke Pakke Rishte and Balika Vadhu-Lamhe Pyaar Ke. The show is set in rural Rajasthan and traces the journey of the child bride Anandi, who is also the protagonist of the show.
